Problem with warning light and brake fluid level in Audi A5 Diesel 2018

Hi, I have a problem with my 2018 Audi A5 diesel. A warning light comes on in the speedometer and I suspect the brake fluid level may be too low. Has anyone had similar experiences and can give me any troubleshooting tips? How did the garage solve the problem? I would be pleased to hear about your experiences.

Hi, you remind me of a similar problem I had with my 2016 Audi A3 gasoline, just a different model, but still from Audi. I only have low car knowledge, but I tried to master it. I fully understand your problem. The light coming on is often a sign that something is wrong with the brakes or brake fluid. In my case, the brakes on the car were worn out, which I had a garage check out. The solution for me was to have the brakes completely replaced, which cost me €480. It was a lot of money, but my safety was worth it. To help you better, could you please give more details about your car? What message are you getting on the dashboard exactly, and are there any other symptoms? Good luck!

Hey, thanks for your experience, that really helps! The message on my display says "brake fluid level low". I can also feel that the braking behavior of my car has changed. It no longer feels as safe as it did before. I last had my Audi A5 Diesel serviced about 3 months ago. Everything was fine then. Now I have 30352 km on the clock, so I haven't driven too much since then. I think I'll have the brake fluid checked and topped up. If the problem persists, a part will probably have to be replaced, as you have done. Hopefully I'll be stuck with the cost of the brake fluid. Thanks for your help!

Hey, I'm glad I could help! Your error message really does indicate that the brake fluid needs to be topped up. The changes in braking behavior are another indication. It's great that you notice such changes immediately. Many people overlook such details! In your case, the first thing I would really do is to have the brake fluid checked and topped up. I wouldn't be surprised if the braking behavior then returns to normal. With such a low mileage since the last inspection, the wearing parts will probably still be in order. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out! Always stay safe on the road! Best regards.

Thanks for the advice and support. That sounds pretty reassuring. I will go to the garage and have the brake fluid topped up. Hopefully the braking behavior will then return to normal. I'll let you know as soon as I have any news. Stay safe on the road too! Until then, best regards.
