Problem with the headlight cleaning system on the 2017 Toyota Avensis - experience and solutions wanted

Hello everyone, I have a strange problem with my Toyota Avensis, year of manufacture 2017, gasoline engine. The headlight cleaning system no longer works. Could this be the fault with the headlight cleaning system? Have any of you ever had a similar problem and how did you get it fixed in the workshop? It would be great if you could share your experiences. Thank you!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2015 Toyota Corolla. So, I'm not a car expert, but I've had a few experiences. I took my car to the garage and after a diagnosis it was found that the control unit was faulty. The repair cost me 1000 euros. To help you more accurately, could you please provide more vehicle information? E.g. the exact model number or mileage? Hope that helps!

Hey, thanks for your quick reply. My Avensis now has 100099 km on the clock. The last service was only recently, but unfortunately this problem with the headlight cleaning system was not fixed. So you think it could be the control unit? Great, that sounds like more costs...but I'll take it up with the garage. Perhaps others here in the forum have had similar experiences.

Hey, yes, that could well be the case. In my Toyota Corolla, it was definitely the control unit. Unfortunately, things like that can happen, especially with more complex systems like the headlight cleaning system. But you are welcome to get a second opinion, maybe there is a cheaper solution. In any case, I would recommend that you have it checked at the garage as soon as possible. If the headlight cleaning system is not working, this could also affect driving safety. So it's best not to wait too long! Hopefully I have been able to help you and the problem can be solved without much effort. Good luck with it!

Hello, yes exactly, you got it right. I will definitely address the problem the next time I visit the garage and hope it's not too expensive. It's better to invest properly in the repair once than to drive unsafely in the dark. Thank you very much for your advice, it has helped me a lot. If anyone else here on the forum has had similar experiences, I would be grateful if they could share them. Until then, I'll keep you posted!
