Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! That sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with. I'm relieved to hear it wasn't something super major in your case. Do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the cable replacement? Also, has everything been running smoothly since the fix, or have you noticed any other quirks pop up? Would really help me figure out what I'm in for!

Hey again! Happy to help with more details! Yeah, after getting it fixed at my mechanic, everything has been running perfectly smooth, not a single problem with the transmission since then. The total bill came to 365€ for fixing that damaged cable connection on the selector lever. Worth every penny though, because the car shifts like a dream now! I know the price might sound a bit steep for a cable issue, but the labor was quite involved since they had to access some tricky spots to replace it properly. Plus, with these hybrid systems, you really want someone who knows what they're doing. Trust me, once you get it sorted, you'll notice the difference right away. My Eclipse Cross has been performing beautifully for the past several months, no more rough shifts or gear slipping. It honestly feels like a different car! Let me know if you need any other info. Always happy to share my experience with fellow Mitsubishi owners!

Thanks so much for all the detailed info! I actually just got back from the mechanic today. You were spot on about the cable issue! I found a hybrid specialist through a local car forum, and they diagnosed the same problem, a worn-out selector cable. My bill came to around 400€, a bit more than yours but still reasonable considering the work involved. The mechanic was super professional and even showed me the damaged cable. What a relief it wasn't the entire transmission! Took it for a test drive afterward, and wow, what a difference! The shifting is buttery smooth now, and that annoying check engine light is finally off. Really glad I didn't put this off any longer. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, it gave me the confidence to get this sorted quickly. The car feels like new again! Guess I've found my new go-to mechanic too. Thanks again for all your help!

Hey there! I totally get your concern. I had a similar issue with my 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV last summer. The symptoms were pretty much identical, check engine light, rough shifting, and that annoying slip between gears. Took it to my regular mechanic, and it turned out to be a damaged cable connection on the selector lever. The cable had worn out and was causing incorrect signals to the transmission control unit. It wasn't a major repair job, but it definitely needed proper attention since it affects the whole transmission system. Since you've got a hybrid, I'd suggest finding a mechanic who specializes in hybrid vehicles. The transmission setup is a bit different from conventional cars, and having someone who knows the hybrid system inside out makes a big difference. My issue got sorted in a day, and the transmission's been smooth sailing since then. Just don't put it off too long, these symptoms usually don't fix themselves and could lead to bigger problems if left unchecked.
