No Airflow from Buick Verano Vents, HVAC Not Blowing

My Buick Verano 2011 (145k on the clock) has stopped blowing air completely through the vents. The HVAC system seems dead, no airflow at all. Had a not-so-great experience with my last mechanic, so looking for advice before taking it in again. Is this likely just the blower motor, or could other components like sensors be causing this? Anyone dealt with similar issues on their Verano?

Had a similar issue with my 2014 Buick LaCrosse that turned out to be more than just a blower motor problem. The complete airflow failure was caused by a combination of a faulty climate control module and damaged sensor connections. The root cause was traced to corroded wiring harness connections leading to the climate control unit. These connections had deteriorated over time, causing intermittent sensor fault codes. The air conditioning sensor network completely lost communication with the main control module. The repair involved: Testing the blower motor first, Diagnosing multiple sensor faults, Replacing the main climate control module, Repairing the wiring harness, Recalibrating the AUC sensor system This was classified as a major repair since it affected the entire HVAC system functionality. The complete diagnosis took several hours as we had to test each component individually. Recommend having a thorough diagnostic scan before replacing any parts, as simply swapping the blower motor might not resolve the underlying electrical issues. Would suggest finding a shop that specializes in automotive electrical systems for proper diagnosis of these sensor-related problems.

My mechanic initially thought it was just the blower motor but found similar wiring corrosion affecting multiple HVAC components. Can you remember roughly what the total repair cost came out to for your car? Also wondering if youve had any other HVAC or electrical problems pop up since getting it fixed?

After getting the repair done last month, I can confirm it was actually simpler than initially feared. The main issue turned out to be a faulty connection at the AUC sensor, which was causing the entire HVAC system to malfunction. The total cost was around 95 for fixing the cable and plug connections that had degraded over time. The auto recirculation system now works perfectly again, and all air quality sensor functions are back to normal. Have not experienced any additional HVAC or electrical issues since the repair. The air conditioning sensor network is communicating properly with the control module now. Looking back, the initial diagnosis suggesting multiple component failures was overly complex. A skilled technician was able to trace it specifically to the wiring issue at the sensor connection point. Would definitely recommend getting a proper diagnostic done rather than just assuming the worst case scenario with these HVAC sensor problems. The repair took less than two hours once they identified the actual issue, and the system has been running flawlessly for the past few weeks. Much better outcome than expected based on initial concerns about major component replacements.

Thanks everyone for the helpful advice. Just got back from the mechanic and wanted to share what happened with my Verano. Like many suggested, the issue was electrical rather than mechanical. The main HVAC sensor wiring had corroded and lost connection near the blower motor assembly. The repair took about 90 minutes and cost €175 including parts and labor. The cabin air sensor and air quality sensor systems are all working perfectly now. The auto recirculation feature kicks in normally, and I have full airflow through all vents again. Found a much better mechanic this time who took the time to properly diagnose rather than just throwing parts at the problem. Really glad I asked here first, saved me from potentially paying for unnecessary replacements. No other issues since the repair was completed last week.
