Multiple Warning Lights & Heavy Steering in Audi A6

Last service was performed at 31124 KM, just 500 KM ago. The tire pressure readings you mentioned align with my experience. My rear left tire shows only 1.2 bar, while others maintain 2.4 bar. The vibration definitely increases with higher speeds, especially above 80 KM/h. I inspected the tires and found a small nail in the problematic tire, which explains the pressure loss. The punctured tire likely triggered the tire monitoring system and caused the chain reaction of warnings. The uneven tire pressure between left and right explains both the steering issues and ABS warnings. Will get the tire repaired or replaced to resolve these symptoms. Quick pressure check at a gas station confirmed the significant pressure loss in that wheel.

Thanks for the update. This confirms what I suspected based on my experience with my Audi A4. The nail puncture causing uneven tire pressure perfectly explains all the symptoms we discussed. When my tire pressure monitoring system detected similar uneven readings between sides, it triggered multiple warnings. Like your case, the significantly underinflated tire (1.2 bar is dangerously low) caused the steering wheel vibration and made the power steering work harder. My suggestion would be: 1. Avoid driving if possible, running on such low pressure can damage the tire sidewall 2. Have the tire professionally inspected for internal damage 3. If the nail didnt cause extensive damage, a patch repair might be possible for around 40 Euro 4. After repair, ensure all tires are properly inflated to spec and the tire monitoring system is reset The ABS warning should clear once tire pressures are equalized. Using a reliable tire gauge to check pressure regularly can help catch air leaks early before they cause these cascading system warnings. Based on the symptoms matching exactly, I am confident fixing the punctured tire will resolve all the issues, just as it did in my case.

Thanks for the detailed advice. You were absolutely right, I had the tire inspected today and the nail caused repairable damage. The shop patched the tire for 35 Euro and properly inflated all tires to spec. They also reset the tire monitoring system. After driving about 50km, all warning lights have cleared. The steering feels normal again and the vibration is completely gone. The tire pressure gauge readings now show consistent values across all wheels. Good suggestion about regular pressure checks. I've bought a portable tire gauge to monitor the pressures weekly and catch any issues early. Really glad this turned out to be a straightforward fix rather than a major power steering or ABS problem. The total repair cost was much lower than I initially feared when seeing all those warning lights. Lesson learned about how a single tire pressure issue can trigger multiple system warnings.

I had a very similar issue with my Audi A4 2.0L from 2003. Having some experience with tire-related problems, I first suspected it might be tire pressure related when these symptoms appeared together. The tire sensor system was triggering warnings because of a faulty tire pressure monitoring valve in one of the wheels. The air leak was gradual, causing uneven tire pressure, which explained the vibration and ABS warning. When tire pressure drops significantly, it can make steering feel heavier as the power steering system works harder to compensate. I took it to a workshop where they diagnosed a defective valve that was causing air to leak slowly. The repair included replacing the valve and recalibrating the tire pressure monitoring system. Total cost was 280 Euro, including parts and labor. Before suggesting more specific solutions, could you provide: Current tire pressure readings for all wheels, Whether the vibration changes with speed, If you notice any punctured tire or visible damage, The exact warning messages displayed, When was the last tire pressure check performed This information would help determine if your issue matches what I experienced or if there might be other underlying problems.
