Mini Roadster electronic parking brake fault

Alright, I'm a bit stumped here. My 2015 Mini Roadster has developed a problem with the electronic parking brake. Basically, it's completely non-functional. The electronic handbrake won't engage or disengage. I've got a warning light glaring at me from the speedometer, and an error is stored in the error memory. From what I've read, it might be the electric motor in the brake calliper. Anyone else experience this kind of brake fault?

I had something similar happen with my Mini. Electronic brake fault light came on and the parking brake just wouldn't engage. I think it's a brake control system glitch. Does the error memory say anything specific?

Thanks for the quick reply. The error memory does point towards the electric motor in the brake calliper being defective. Did you have the same error code? And what was the eventual repair?

Yep, same issue. Same error code too, if I remember correctly. I tried a few things, but in the end, I just bit the bullet and took it to a workshop. They replaced the whole calliper assembly. Not cheap, but at least it fixed the problem.

Just wanted to close the loop on this. Took the Roadster to a mechanic, and you were spot on. It was indeed the electric motor in the brake calliper. Had both rear callipers replaced for 505€. Parking brake is working perfectly again. Thanks for the help!
