Mini Roadster Battery Issues

Alright, I'm officially pulling my hair out! My 2013 Mini Roadster is giving me fits. The car battery keeps draining, and I'm getting all sorts of weirdness – error message in the speedometer, weak lights, and she barely cranks when starting. I scanned for codes, and it's pointing towards a possible battery sensor issue. Could that be the culprit? It feels like the car battery is trying to tell me something, but I can't understand its language!

Sounds familiar! My Mini (same model as yours) had similar symptoms a while back. Error messages, flickering lights… the whole shebang. I'd check your battery terminals first, make sure they're clean and tight. A loose connection can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins. Have you tried that?

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the battery terminals; they seemed okay. But what was the eventual fix for your Mini? Was it the car battery itself, or something else entirely?

Okay, if the battery terminals are clean, and the error codes point to the sensor, it does sound like that's your issue. In my case, it turned out to be the sensor. It's like a bad thermostat in your house, giving you inaccurate readings, but instead of temperature, it's the vehicle battery's health it's misreporting. Honestly, at that point, I just took it to a workshop. Replacing the sensor requires some specialized tools and knowledge. Better safe than sorry, you know?

Just wanted to let you know that you were spot on! Took my Mini Roadster to the shop, and they confirmed it was indeed the battery sensor. 315€ later, and she's running like new. Thanks again for the help!
