Mini Paceman low heating output

Alright, I'm having an issue with my 2015 Mini Paceman diesel. The heating output of the heating is way too low. I ran a diagnostic, and it's showing an error for a defective water valve. I'm thinking it might be a cable or plug connection problem. Anyone else experience this? Any idea if this could also affect the heater core? Trying to avoid any potential engine overheating. The estimate I got for a replacement is around 95€, does that sound right?

Hmm, that's interesting. I had a similar problem with my Mini's car heating last winter. The heating output was really low, and the engine seemed to take forever to warm up. Did you check the coolant level? Maybe there's a coolant leak somewhere. I'm not sure about the error memory though. I'd be curious to know if that could be related to the heater core. Was your engine overheating at all?

Coolant level seems fine, no signs of a coolant leak that I can see. Engine temperature is normal too, no engine overheating. You mentioned it could be related to the heater core. What was the fix in your case? Was it also a car valve issue? Trying to get a better idea what I'm looking at here.

Yeah, the symptoms sound pretty familiar. In my case, they suspected a faulty car valve too, but I ended up taking it to a workshop. They ran some tests and confirmed that the valve was defective. I'm no expert, but I think it's best to get it checked properly. It might save you some trouble down the road.

Update for anyone who might have the same issue: Took my Paceman to the shop, and you were right. Turns out it was a defective water valve, just as suspected. They replaced it, and the car heating is working perfectly now. Total cost was 95€, which is what I expected. Thanks again for the help!
