Mini One Starting Problem

Hmm, that sounds tricky. Is it just struggling to start, or are there any other electrical gremlins going on? Have you noticed any problems with the lights dimming or the radio cutting out? Maybe worth checking the voltage across the battery terminals with a multimeter if you have one? Just a thought, could be a bad earth somewhere causing a voltage drop affecting the starter motor. I am not sure though.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't have a multimeter, unfortunately. But you mentioned a voltage drop – could that be caused by a dodgy fuse or something in the fuse box? Or perhaps the ignition switch itself? I’m really not sure where to begin looking.

It definitely sounds like the battery. A voltage drop could be caused by a faulty fuse, the ignition switch, or maybe even a problem with the starter motor itself drawing too much current. But given the symptoms and the terminal 30 error, I would guess the battery is the primary suspect. It’s probably best to get it checked professionally though, especially if you don't have the tools to test it yourself. An electrical fault can be a pain.

Just wanted to let you know the problem is sorted. It was indeed a battery issue causing a terminal 30 continuous plus interruption, looks like it was faulty and underperforming. New battery fitted and all seems well. Cost 290€. Thanks for the advice, much appreciated!
