Mini One Seat Heater Issue

Okay, so my 2007 Mini One is throwing a hissy fit. The seat heater's gone completely kaput. No warmth whatsoever, and the diagnostic tool is showing an error. Mileage is sitting pretty at 89426 km. From what I've read, it's probably the seat heating mat itself that's conked out. Anyone else had this gremlin before? It's driving me nuts!

Sounds familiar. Had a similar issue with the seat heater in my old Volvo. First thing I'd check is the wiring harness under the seat. Might be a loose connection or a broken wire. Does the error code specify which seat is having problems?

Yeah, on the Volvo the broken wire was tricky to spot, it was frayed right where it entered the connector. But if you've already checked that, and the error code points to the heating element, it's likely that the mat is faulty. Probably best to get it checked at a workshop I would say.

Good shout about the wiring, hadn't thought of that. The error code does specify the driver's seat, and I've wiggled the connector under the seat already, but no change. Is there anything specific I should be looking for with the wiring harness?

Alright, update time. I took the Mini to the shop. Diagnostics confirmed the heating mat was toast, just like we suspected. They quoted 390€ for the repair. Bit steep, but what can you do when your bum's freezing? Thanks for the help, really appreciate it!
