Mini One ECU Problems

Alright, I'm facing a rather annoying issue with my 2023 Mini One. The car has around 147560 km on the clock, and I'm getting a 'Vehicle software faulty' error. This manifests as general electrical malfunctions and the navigation system is completely non-functional. The onboard diagnostics suggest the programming of the control unit is implausible. Has anyone experienced similar ECU problems? The repair cost is estimated at 240€, but I want to be sure before I go ahead with a software update.

I have a Mini One as well and I had similar problems a while back. The navigation was completely dead and I was getting some weird electrical glitches. Did you check the battery? Sometimes a weak battery can cause these kinds of issues, especially with all the electronics these cars have.

Yes, that sounds very much like the problem I had. The error memory also pointed towards the control unit. I tried a few things myself, but in the end, I had to take it to a workshop for a software update. They said it was an ECU problem and needed a reflash. It fixed everything though, so I recommend getting it checked out professionally.

Thanks for the quick reply! The battery seems fine, I checked the voltage and it's within the normal range. Also, the car starts without any issues. The error memory indicates a problem with the control unit programming being implausible. Do you recall if your situation was similar, pointing to potential ECU problems?

Thanks, that confirms my suspicion. Took it to the workshop, and as suspected, it was a software malfunction. A control unit re-flash solved the issue. All systems nominal again, and the car is back on the road. The onboard diagnostics are now clear. Appreciate the insight!
