Mini Countryman Hybrid Climate Control Problem

I haven't checked the sensor directly. Where exactly is the interior temperature sensor located on the Countryman? Also, I didn't write down the exact error code, but the system description mentioned an 'open circuit or short circuit to ground'. Does that change anything?

An open or short circuit definitely points to a wiring issue. The interior temperature sensor on the Countryman is often located near the steering column or integrated into the overhead control panel. Given the error code and your initial suspicion, I'd bet that the cable or plug is the culprit. However, diagnosing electrical issues can be tricky without proper tools. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop. They'll be able to pinpoint the exact location of the fault and repair it properly.

Turns out the climate control temperature reading was indeed off because of a faulty sensor cable, as suspected. Quick trip to the workshop and 95€ later, all good. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Sounds like a classic case of sensor issues impacting your climate control. The automatic temperature control relies on accurate readings from various sensors, including the interior temperature sensor. If that sensor is sending incorrect data, or no data at all due to a bad connection, the system won't function correctly. Before taking it to the shop, have you checked the sensor itself? It is usually located somewhere near the dash. Perhaps you can check the plug and the cable. A visual check can't hurt. Do you know the error code stored?
