Mini Countryman diesel problems again and again the starter does not work

Hello everyone, my 2010 Mini Countryman Diesel has approx. 189654 km on the clock and is currently causing me some concern. Recently I've been having the following problems: longer cold start times, engine sometimes won't start, strange noises from the engine, weak battery when starting, fluctuating or flickering lights and a warning light in the speedometer. I recently had a bad experience with my garage and would like to know if any of you have had similar problems and how they were resolved. Do you have any recommendations for a trustworthy garage? Hello, I had similar problems with my 2012 Mini Cooper S. The symptoms also occurred, especially the longer cold start time and the flickering light. In my case, it turned out that the fault was due to a defect in the control unit, which in turn was caused by a broken alternator. The alternator had to be replaced in the workshop and the control unit reconfigured. It was a serious matter, as subsequent electronic faults in the vehicle's electrical system can often lead to further problems in stages. I recommend having the vehicle checked in a workshop that specializes in Minis and BMWs to make sure that all sources of error are precisely identified and rectified. All the best and good luck! Hey, I'm glad I could help you! After going to a specialist mechanic, they fixed the fault for me. The problem of the engine sometimes not starting (engine start possibly not possible) was solved simply by them determining that it was a consequential fault with the vehicle electrics. Fortunately, the mechanic was accommodating and the repair cost me €0 because only a small thing had to be reconfigured. Since then, the car has been running perfectly again and I've had no further problems!
