Mini Cooper turn signal issue

Okay, car gurus, I'm officially stumped. My 2008 Mini Cooper diesel is throwing a fit about the turn signal. I get an error stored in the error memory, an error message pops up in the speedometer, and the lighting is all messed up. The paperwork says the cable or plug connection is probably defective. What gives?

Sounds like an electrical fault for sure. I had something similar happen with my old Opel. The indicator light would flicker, then die completely. Did you check the bulb itself? It might be as simple as a lamp replacement.

I did check the bulb, it looks fine. But how would a bad plug cause an error message in the speedometer? That seems crazy to me!

Yeah, the error message in the speedometer is weird, but it points to the same thing. In my Opel, the broken wire was causing the whole system to go haywire. Best bet is to get it checked at a workshop, they'll be able to pinpoint the exact electrical fault with proper diagnostic tools. I bet it's a dodgy connection somewhere in the automotive lighting.

Update time! Took my Mini Cooper to the shop and they found a defective plug on the turn signal lamp. They replaced it. The error's gone from the speedometer and no more lighting fault! Cost me 95€, but totally worth it. Thanks for your help!
