Voltage drop is something I can test with a multimeter I guess? When you say terminals, are there any specific ones I should be looking at? The wiring harness looks okay on a quick visual check, but I didn't take it apart.

Yeah, multimeter is your friend. I'd focus on the main power terminals in the fuse box first. Give them a wiggle, see if the voltage fluctuates. I had a corroded terminal that was causing intermittent issues. If it's not that obvious, get it to a workshop. Electrical gremlins can be a nightmare.

Update for anyone else having this weirdness. Took the Mini to a garage. They confirmed the battery was shot and replaced it. Cost me 290€. They checked the charging system too and said all good. Hopefully, that's the end of it.

Sounds like a pain. I had something similar with my Cooper not long ago. Check for any voltage drop across the fuse box, especially around the terminals. Could also be a dodgy connection in the wiring harness. Is the starter motor turning over okay, or is it sluggish?
