Regarding the fuel regulator, was it a straightforward diagnosis in your case? Did you replace any other components, or were there any diagnostic steps you would recommend before proceeding with a replacement?

Yes, it sounds very familiar. The diagnostic pointed to the fuel regulator, which then led to the discovery of a defective high pressure pump. Given the symptoms you described, especially the stalling and reduced power, I would advise taking it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis. It could save you time and money in the long run.

I appreciate the insight. As suspected, the issue was indeed the fuel volume regulator. The high pressure pump was defective, which seems to have been the root cause. Repair costs amounted to 1510€. Hopefully, this resolves the intermittent stalling and power loss.

I had similar symptoms with my Mini Cooper. Reduced engine power, rough idling, and the check engine light illuminated. Have you checked the car sensors? An engine misfire can often trigger those symptoms. The fuel regulator might be the culprit. What about fuel efficiency, have you noticed any changes?
