Mini Cooper Climate Regulation Problem

I have a climate regulation issue plaguing my diesel 2019 Mini Cooper. The automatic temperature control has stopped working, and the air conditioning system won't engage. An error is stored, pointing towards a faulty interior temperature sensor, mentioning a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered a similar situation? It sounds like a sensor replacement might be in order.

I had a similar issue with my Mini Cooper’s climate regulation. The automatic temperature control went haywire. Does the temperature reading on your display seem off? It might be worth checking the sensor itself for damage or loose connections before assuming it's a major problem.

Interesting! When your temperature sensor failed, did you also notice the air conditioning system not switching on? And was your error message specific regarding the cable or plug connection? Any details would be appreciated before I commit to a sensor replacement.

Yes, the air conditioning not switching on was exactly what happened with mine. The error wasn't quite as specific, but all signs pointed to the temperature sensor being the culprit. If your error message mentions the cable or plug, it's likely that's the issue. Honestly, with that information, I'd just take it to a workshop and have them check the connection, or replace the sensor. Could save you time and headache.

Update for those with similar climate issues with their Mini Cooper. It was the interior temperature sensor. The cable and plug connection were defective, as the error memory suggested. Sensor replacement was done, and the air conditioning system is now working. Total cost: 95€. Thanks for the advice; it saved me diagnostic time!
