Mini Cooper Airbag Warning Light Issue

I am at my wit's end. The airbag warning lamp on the speedometer of my 2013 Mini Cooper is illuminated, and I am deeply concerned about vehicle safety. I've scanned the system, and it indicates a fault within the airbag system, potentially a defective cable or plug connection. Could this really be something so simple? I'm worried about airbag deployment in the event of a collision. Has anyone else experienced this? What steps should I take before assuming the worst?

Yes, I was referring to the crash sensors at the front. Sorry, I don't recall the exact location. In my case, I wasn't able to fix it myself. I took my Mini Cooper to a local workshop, and after a thorough diagnostic check, it turned out to be a faulty connection in one of the crash sensors as you suspected. The repair cost me 95€, which is quite reasonable. I'm glad it wasn't anything more serious, and now the SRS light is finally off!
