Mini Clubman Windshield Wipers Not Working

Given the open circuit error code and your confirmation of fuse integrity, a faulty wiper switch or a break in the wiring harness are indeed the prime suspects. While a defective wiper switch is possible, the wiring harness, particularly at the connector to the wiper motor, is a more common failure point. Given your diagnostic capabilities, inspecting the wiring harness for chafing or corrosion is advisable. However, considering the relatively low estimated repair cost, having a qualified technician diagnose and repair the issue may be the most expedient solution to ensure proper functionality of the windshield wipers.

I did check the fuses, they all appear to be intact. Regarding the error code, I don't have the exact code at hand, but it specifically mentioned an open circuit in the windshield wipers system. Could a faulty wiper switch cause such a problem, or is the wiring harness the more likely culprit?

Just wanted to update you the garage confirmed a fault in the wiring harness leading to the wiper motor. They replaced a section of the harness and the windshield wipers are now functioning correctly. The bill came to 95€, exactly as expected. Thanks for the confirmation, it saved me a lot of time!

Intermittent windshield wiper functionality coupled with a stored error code strongly suggests an electrical fault. Have you checked the integrity of the relevant fuses? Also, could you elaborate on the specific error code retrieved from the ECU? This information would assist in narrowing down the potential causes.
