Mini Clubman oil pressure issue

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had a similar scare with my Clubman. Seeing that oil pressure light is never fun, is it? First thing, are you sure it's not just a simple oil leak somewhere? Maybe check around the oil filter and the drain plug? Also, what kind of engine oil have you been using? Some of those fancy oil additives can actually cause more harm than good.

Okay, so I didn't spot any obvious leaks myself, but I'm no mechanic. My car was guzzling oil like crazy though. I appreciate you sharing your experience. It does appear the maintenance interval was exceeded. I have had the engine oil and oil filter replaced at a local shop. Repair cost me 165€. The warning light in the speedometer is now off, and the oil pressure warning lamp is no longer illuminated.
