Mini Clubman Diesel Engine Problems

Interesting, I haven't tried any additives yet. Where exactly would I add them, and how long should I expect to see a difference? And the fuel filter... I'm not sure when that was last changed, I need to check the service record. If it's clogged, is that something I could handle myself, or is it a job for a pro?

Yeah, what you're describing does sound like a dodgy injector. Additives might help clear a bit of dirt, but honestly, if it's that bad, it's probably not going to fix it completely. Replacing the fuel filter could help if it's really blocked, but I think you should take it to a workshop. An injector issue on a diesel can cause serious engine damage if it's left unchecked. Might be worth the expense to get it sorted properly.

Just wanted to update. You were spot on. Took my Mini Clubman diesel in, and after diagnostics, it was indeed a defective injection nozzle. Replacement sorted the misfire, idling, and power issues. Repair cost was 515€. Thanks for your help!

Whoa, that sounds rough! My first thought is definitely fuel. Have you tried using any fuel additives, maybe a fuel injector cleaner? Also, when was the last time you changed your fuel filter? Could be a blockage there that's messing with the fuel getting to the engine.
