Mini Clubman Diesel ECU Issue

I am writing to inquire about a potential issue I've identified with my 2015 Mini Clubman diesel. The vehicle is exhibiting symptoms indicative of a defective engine control unit. Specifically, there is a noticeable reduction in engine power, and an error is stored within the error memory. From my investigation, it appears a likely cause is a defective main relay. Has anyone encountered a similar situation with their Mini's ECU, and what steps did you take to resolve it?

Reduced engine power and stored error codes often point towards control system anomalies. Have you attempted a system reset to see if the computer module recalibrates? It is a standard first step.

Regarding the system reset, are there any specific procedures I should follow to ensure it is performed correctly? I'm familiar with basic diagnostic tools, but I want to ensure no further issues arise during the process.

Given the symptoms and your diagnostic assessment, a defective main relay is plausible. I would advise against extensive DIY repairs on ECU problems. The best course of action is to take the vehicle to a qualified workshop for ECU repair.

I appreciate the confirmation. Indeed, it was a defective main relay. The car is back on the road. The total expenditure amounted to 120€ for the repair, which included the replacement of the relay. I hope this information can be helpful for others encountering similar ECU problems.
