Mini Clubman Cruise Control Issue

I am experiencing an issue with the cruise control in my 2014 Mini Clubman. The cruise control has ceased to function. There are no obvious indications, but an error is stored in the error memory. The potential cause, according to preliminary diagnostics, is a defective cable or plug connection of the component. Could this also be the clock spring? Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

I had a similar issue with my Mini Clubman, although I didn’t see any dashboard light. Have you checked the fuse box? That could be the simplest thing to eliminate. Otherwise, it might be a speed sensor issue. Is your speedometer working correctly?

Thank you for your suggestion. Where exactly is the fuse box located, and how would I test the speed sensor? And if the speed sensor fails, would that have an impact on anything other than the cruise control function?

My fuse box is under the hood, but check your manual to be sure. I didn't test the speed sensor myself; frankly, I'm not that skilled. Because the error was stored, I took my Clubman to the workshop to have it addressed. The mechanics are more familiar with those types of electrical problems. So I would suggest a visit there.

Many thanks for your advice. It turned out to be a defective cable connection as suspected. 95€ at the workshop sorted it. Cruise control is working again.
