Mini Clubman Airbag Warning Light Issue

My 2015 Mini Clubman is exhibiting a concerning fault. The airbag warning lamp is illuminated in the speedometer, indicating a system failure. Based on preliminary diagnostics, a defective cable or plug connection within the airbag componentry is the likely culprit. Has anyone encountered this previously, and if so, what troubleshooting steps did you find most effective?

That SRS light is never fun. I had a similar airbag warning light issue pop up on my old Volvo a while back. Have you tried checking the connections under the seats? Sometimes moving the seats around can loosen a connector.

Interesting. You mentioned checking the connections under the seats. Could you elaborate on which connections specifically? And were the symptoms identical? The airbag warning lamp is constantly illuminated in the speedometer of the Mini.

The Volvo's SRS light was also constantly on. I wiggled pretty much every connector I could find under both front seats. In the end, I bit the bullet and took it to a workshop. They found a loose connection in the passenger side airbag wiring. Best to get it checked for vehicle safety reasons, especially concerning airbag deployment and automotive safety.

Following your recommendation, I took the 2015 Mini Clubman in for diagnostics. The fault was precisely as suspected: a defective plug connection within the airbag system. The repair totaled 95€. Thank you for the advice.
