Mini Cabrio Heating Problems

Okay, if the error code points to the water valve, that's probably where the problem lies. I am not too sure about the heater core's exact location on the Mini or how difficult it is to inspect, but since you have a low coolant level, it would be best to take it to a workshop and have it checked. The valve blockage could definitely be the issue. Best to let professionals handle it, I think. Good luck!

Thanks for the info! I did check the coolant level, and it was a bit low, but I topped it up. Where exactly is the heater core located, and how difficult is it to check for leaks there? Also, about the car valve – the error code specifically mentioned a defective water valve. Could a valve blockage cause similar symptoms, even if it's not the thermostat?

Just wanted to let you know I got it sorted! Turns out you were spot on. Took it to the shop, and they confirmed the water valve was indeed the culprit. They replaced it, and my heater is blasting heat again. Total cost was 95€, which is a relief. Thanks again for your help!

Oh man, that sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my Mini Cabrio a while back, although I don't remember the exact mileage. The heater was just blowing cold air, and it turned out to be a coolant leak affecting the heater core. Have you checked your coolant level recently? A drop in coolant could indicate a leak somewhere in the system. The heater core is like a mini-radiator that provides heat to the cabin. The car valve you mentioned, is it perhaps the thermostat valve? Because if it is stuck closed, it could restrict coolant flow to the heater core, causing the lack of heat. But I'm not a mechanic, so I don't know for sure!
