Malfunctions in the ventilation of a BMW 1 Series 2016 model: Possible causes and solutions

Hi everyone, I have a problem with my 2016 BMW 1 Series (diesel). I'm only at 74,430 km and my ventilation system is acting up. I suspect that the fault is caused by the air conditioning control unit - but my visit to the mechanic was not a great success. Have any of you had similar experiences and can give me tips on what to do about it? Is this a common problem? I would really appreciate any help. Thanks a lot!

Hey buddy, recently had a similar problem with my 2013 BMW 3 series. The ventilation was all messed up too, and my mechanic was stumped at first. After some searching, we finally found out that the A/C system had a serious defect. In the end, it turned out that the A/C control panel was actually one of the main causes of the problem, just as you suspected. The fault wasn't exactly serious, but it did take quite a lot of work to find the fault. So I can say from experience that you may be right. Let us know what you come up with!

Hey, thanks for your answer! That's exactly the kind of major expense I'm afraid of. Do you happen to remember how much you paid for the repair back then? And has anything else come up since then or is everything really running smoothly again now?

Hey again, after I went to the mechanic, the fault was rectified. In terms of costs, I paid around €950 at the time, as the entire air conditioning control unit was defective. It wasn't a huge amount, but nothing has happened since then and my car is fine again. Hope this helps you!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. Well then, I'm afraid I'll have to be prepared for a lot of work too. Almost €1000 is indeed a lot of money, but if everything works again afterwards, then it's probably worth it. Maybe it's something else after all. Maybe I'll make another appointment with another mechanic and then report back on how it went. Your tips were really helpful. Thank you very much!
