Thanks for the detailed explanation. Your slipping transmission issue sounds identical to what I experienced. Glad to hear you got it resolved with the voltage regulator replacement and transmission oil change. Quick question, do you remember roughly what the total repair cost was? Also, has your automatic transmission been running smoothly since the fix, or have you noticed any other quirks with the car transmission? Just want to get an idea of what to expect cost-wise and if I should watch out for any recurring issues.

Thanks for asking about the costs and follow-up. Since fixing the undervoltage issue and getting fresh transmission oil, my automatic transmission has been working flawlessly. The repair bill came to 240€ total, which covered the diagnostic work, voltage regulator replacement, and transmission service. The transmission performance returned completely to normal, no more erratic shifting or warning lights. This repair was done 8 months ago and I have not experienced any recurring transmission problems or quirks since then. The key was addressing both the electrical issue and the worn transmission oil simultaneously. My advice would be to get it checked soon since these transmission symptoms rarely resolve on their own. The cost was reasonable considering the comprehensive fix needed. A transmission flush alone would not have solved the underlying voltage problem causing the transmission control module to malfunction.

I took my Jaguar to a reputable transmission specialist last week after reading the helpful advice here. The mechanic found the same voltage regulator issue affecting the transmission control module. The total repair came to 280€ which included: Full diagnostic testing, New voltage regulator, Fresh transmission oil and filter, Control module recalibration The automatic transmission is now shifting perfectly again, no more warning lights or emergency mode. The whole repair process took 2 days and the transmission performance feels completely back to normal. Really glad I had this checked out quickly before any serious transmission problems developed. The slipping transmission symptoms disappeared immediately after the fix. The mechanic explained that the voltage issue was causing the automatic gearbox to misread signals and malfunction. Getting both the electrical components and transmission fluid addressed at once was key to resolving it properly. Will update if any other transmission issues come up, but so far everything is working great. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction with this repair.

Had similar transmission problems with a 2017 Jaguar XF with the 2.0L gasoline engine. The symptoms match exactly what you describe, erratic shifting patterns and transmission warning lights triggered by undervoltage in the control module. The transmission performance issues were serious enough to require immediate attention. Initial diagnosis showed the transmission control module was getting incorrect voltage readings, causing the transmission to enter limp mode as a safety measure. The fix required: Complete diagnostic scan of the transmission control unit, Replacement of the voltage regulator, New transmission oil and filter replacement, Recalibration of the transmission control module A transmission flush alone would not have resolved these issues. The automatic gearbox needed proper electronic diagnosis first. The voltage problem was causing the transmission to misread signals and malfunction. Based on your description, recommend taking it to a transmission specialist who can properly diagnose whether its electrical or mechanical. These symptoms often indicate more than just worn transmission fluid, especially in newer Jaguars with sophisticated control modules. The repair took 3 days total but solved all shifting problems completely. No transmission issues since the fix.
