Thanks for sharing your repair experience. I had very similar ignition system issues with my S Type. After the control module replacement and software update, did you notice any other electrical malfunctions? The repair seems quite comprehensive, but these problems can sometimes be tricky. Really curious about the repair costs too, as Im currently comparing quotes from different shops and want to make sure Im not being overcharged for the work.

Glad to follow up on this. Following the control module work mentioned earlier, my Jag has been running perfectly with no lingering electrical faults. The Function restrictions that were initially causing connectivity problems were completely resolved after the mechanic sorted out the incorrect pairing with the end device, a relatively simple 45€ fix in the end. The ignition system has remained stable, and the diagnostic codes have stayed clear. This was actually a much simpler solution than the extensive repairs I initially described. It turns out the communication issue was more straightforward than we first thought, which saved both time and money. Just make sure your mechanic thoroughly checks the basic connection protocols before jumping into more complex repairs. Sometimes what appears to be major electrical faults can be resolved with proper diagnosis of the pairing system. The key is finding someone who really knows their way around Jaguar electronics and can accurately interpret those error codes.

Thanks for the input. I finally took my S Type to a specialist mechanic last week. The transmission control module needed recalibration and they found some loose wiring connections causing the electrical faults in the infotainment system. The total repair came to 380€ including diagnostics and labor. Much better than the 900€ quote I got from my previous mechanic. The fuel system and ignition system were thoroughly checked as well since they were concerned about potential cascade failures. After a week of driving, the Bluetooth is working perfectly again and no more error codes showing up. Really glad I found a competent shop that properly diagnosed the issue instead of just throwing parts at the problem. Sometimes finding the right mechanic makes all the difference with these electrical malfunctions. The car runs great now, lesson learned about getting second opinions when dealing with complex electrical issues on these models.

Had the same electrical faults on my 2009 Jaguar XF 3.0L. The infotainment system showed similar symptoms with connectivity issues. The root cause turned out to be a failing control module in the electrical system rather than just pairing problems. The repair required replacing the Bluetooth control unit and recalibrating the entire infotainment system. These electrical faults often indicate deeper issues with the car's communication network. The diagnostic codes initially suggested a simple pairing problem, but thorough testing revealed compromised wiring connections between the head unit and the vehicle's main computer. The fix involved: Complete diagnostic scan of electrical systems, Replacement of the control module, Software update to the infotainment system, Reset of all communication protocols This was a significant repair that required specialized diagnostic equipment. Recommend having it checked by a shop with experience in Jaguar electrical systems, as generic scan tools might not identify the full extent of the problem. These symptoms typically worsen over time and can affect other vehicle systems if left unaddressed. The age of these models makes them particularly susceptible to electrical system degradation, especially in the entertainment and communication modules.
