Hey, thanks for the info! Now that you've said it, the defect in the gearbox sounds logical. I'm sure I'm not as happy as you were and there really is a gearbox problem. Measure. When I think about how much time and money that will cost... Can you remember the cost of the repair and have there been any further incidents since the mechanic visit? Thanks again!

Hey, sure, that's why we're here in the forum! Well, since the visit to the mechanic, I haven't had the problem with the faulty gear selection display again. As for the cost of the repair, it wasn't exactly peanuts. It cost me around €222 to fix the faulty plug connection. But believe me, the car was back in top condition afterwards. I hope it goes just as smoothly for you! Good luck and keep us up to date!

Hey, your answer was really helpful! You've at least put my mind at ease a bit, although the price is pretty high. Well, I'm going to take my car to a reliable mechanic and hopefully it won't be that bad. I will definitely keep you guys posted. Thanks again for your help!

Hey, I had something similar with my 2013 Skoda Superb, also a petrol engine. One morning on the way to work, it suddenly started shifting gears in a strange way and there was a whining or grinding noise. At first I thought it was the gear selection indicator, but when I went to the mechanic it turned out that the gearbox was faulty. That was a pretty serious problem, I have to say. The mechanic said it took a while and he had to take the whole gearbox out and check it. To be honest, it wasn't a quick repair. But since the last visit to the garage, the car has been running like a charm again. Hopefully my experience will help you a bit. I would definitely recommend you see a trusted mechanic to check out the problem. Good luck man!
