Hummer EV Electrical Glitch Linked to Transport Mode

Recently my 2023 Hummer EV started acting strangely with multiple electrical issues. The navigation system is completely dead and several electrical functions stopped working properly. Looking through the manual, I suspect transport mode might still be active, which could explain these problems. Has anyone experienced similar electrical malfunctions with their EV? Really interested in hearing about workshop solutions and how you got the car configuration sorted out. Need to understand if this requires a dealer visit or if there are known fixes. The key fob functions normally, but pretty much every vehicle system seems to be in some kind of limited operation mode.

Had nearly identical issues with a 2022 Hummer EV Pickup last month. Have some experience with EV electronics, enough to recognize transport mode symptoms. Your description matches exactly what happened, nav system down and restricted functionality across multiple systems. A diagnostic check at the dealership confirmed the transport mode was still active. This commonly happens with new vehicles when the initial car configuration process wasnt fully completed. The fix required a software update and dealer-level system reset, not something that can be done at home. Since your vehicle is new, this should be covered under warranty with no cost, just like mine was. The service took about 2 hours total. Before heading to the dealer, could you share: Exact build date of your vehicle, Current software version (can be found in vehicle settings), Whether the issue started immediately or developed over time, If any warning messages appear on the dashboard This info would help confirm if we are dealing with the same transport mode situation or if there might be other factors involved with your car electronics.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Mine shows 126680 KM on the odometer and the issue started gradually over the past week. The problems seem identical to what you described. I checked the software version through the limited vehicle settings I can still access, its 2023.36.2. The build date sticker shows 03/2023. No specific warning lights, just the system limitations you mentioned. Will schedule a dealership visit for a diagnostic check since the car configuration clearly needs professional attention. Sounds like the transport mode is indeed the culprit affecting the automotive systems. Good to know the fix is relatively quick. Will share the outcome once resolved for others who might face similar electrical issues with their EV.

Thanks for the update. Those details help confirm this is likely the same transport mode situation I encountered. The software version and build date are nearly identical to my vehicle. The gradual onset of electrical issues is typical when the car configuration gets stuck in transport mode. My immobilizer and navigation system also deteriorated over about 5-6 days before completely failing. One quick check you can try before the dealer visit: attempt to cycle through all drive modes using the selector. In my case, this temporarily restored some functionality, though it was not a permanent fix for the car electronics. The dealer will need to perform a complete system reset and update the control modules. For reference, the latest software version after my service was 2023.38.1, which fully resolved the automotive system limitations. Keep us posted on the outcome. This information helps document these transport mode issues for other owners experiencing similar electrical malfunctions.

Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions. Just got back from the dealership and wanted to close the loop on this transport mode issue. The diagnostic check confirmed exactly what was suspected, the vehicle was indeed stuck in transport mode. The service team found the car configuration needed a complete reset and software update. They updated to version 2023.38.1 and performed a full system reboot. All electrical issues are now resolved. The navigation is working perfectly, and every vehicle setting is back to normal. The entire service took just under 2 hours and was covered under warranty. For anyone else experiencing similar automotive electrical problems with limited functionality: definitely check if your EV might be in transport mode. The key fob works normally even when this happens, but the immobilizer and other systems can show strange behavior. A dealer visit is necessary since they need special equipment to reset the system properly.
