Heating and air conditioning malfunction in Citroen C5 model year 2012: experience and advice wanted

Hello everyone, I currently have a problem with my Citroen C5, built in 2012, gasoline engine and with almost 26832 km mileage. My heating and air conditioning are acting up a bit, while the fan is not working reliably. I suspect a possible malfunction of the electric auxiliary heater. Has anyone here ever had similar problems? What are your experiences with the garage in such cases? Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience last time and would like to be well prepared this time. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello, Sounds very similar to my Citroen C8, built in 2015, diesel with approx. 68000 km. I also had problems with my heating and air conditioning, and it turned out that the electric auxiliary heater was defective. At the workshop, they first checked the fuses and the thermostat and then determined that the auxiliary heater was faulty. It was quite a job as the entire part had to be replaced. I don't want to worry you, but unfortunately it is a major issue. But cheer up, everything worked great again afterwards! Hope this helps you and good luck!

Hello, thank you for your feedback. I seem to have the same problem as your C8. Do you happen to remember how much you had to pay for the repair? And did you have any problems afterwards or has everything worked out to your satisfaction since then? Many thanks in advance!

Hello, yes, I remember the repair pretty well. It cost a bit, 350€ to be precise. Not exactly a walk in the park. But well, after the whole procedure was over, everything ran like clockwork. Since the visit to the workshop, the electric auxiliary heater has worked perfectly and hasn't made any further problems. But it's still a good gulp out of the financial barrel. At least now you know what to expect. Hope that helps you! Good luck!

Hello, of course it's bitter that the repair was so expensive, but I'm glad to hear that everything ran smoothly again afterwards. Your report really helps me and gives me a good idea of what I might have to expect. I'll just take that as an investment in a car that runs well. Thank you very much for your help and the valuable information! Best regards!
