Hey! Thanks for the detailed response. My mileage is currently at 207,684 KM, and I actually just had a service about 6 weeks ago. You're spot on about the symptoms being worse when cold, that's exactly what I'm experiencing! Really good to hear you had similar issues and got them sorted. That repair cost seems reasonable too. I'll definitely get it checked out ASAP, don't want to risk any further damage. Thanks for sharing your experience. It's given me a good starting point to work with!

Hey again! Glad I could help! Yeah, seeing your mileage and hearing about the cold start issues, it's definitely sounding more and more like what I dealt with. Just wanted to add, after I got mine fixed, I noticed a massive difference in cold starts especially. Used to hate those chilly morning drives, but now it starts up smooth as butter! Quick tip from my experience, when they replaced my lambda sensor, I had them check the surrounding components too. There was a bit of carbon buildup that needed cleaning, probably from all that black smoke. Getting that sorted at the same time saved me another garage visit. Also, since you mentioned the recent service, might be worth mentioning this issue to the same garage that did it. Sometimes they can spot patterns or related issues they noticed during the service. Hope you get it sorted soon! Let us know how it goes, always good to hear the outcome of these fixes. My Vauxhall's been running like a dream since the repair, hope yours will too! Cheers!

Thanks so much for the extra tips! That's really helpful about the carbon buildup, I'll definitely mention that when I take it in. You're right about talking to my regular garage too; they know the car's history best. I've actually just booked it in for next Tuesday morning. The sooner the better, especially with these cold mornings we're having lately! It's really reassuring to hear your car's running so well after the fix. I'll update the thread once it's sorted, in case anyone else runs into similar issues. Really appreciate all your help with this, you've saved me a lot of worry! Cheers!

I’ve changed my o2 sensor (Bank1 sensor 2) and I am still having a heater circuit malfunction flag up for this any ideas and what it could be?

Check the wiring and connectors for the O2 sensor you replaced. A damaged wire or loose connection can cause a heater circuit malfunction. Ensure all connections are secure and inspect for any visible damage. If the wiring looks fine, consider checking the fuse related to the O2 sensor heater circuit. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

Hey there! I've got some experience with cars (not a pro, but I've dealt with my share of issues). Had almost identical symptoms with my 2017 Vauxhall Crossland X Hybrid last year. The black smoke and power issues were driving me crazy! After dealing with those exact same symptoms, I took it to my trusted workshop. They diagnosed it as a faulty lambda sensor heater. The fix cost me around 375€, including parts and labor. The car's been running perfectly since then – no more smoke, better fuel economy, and smooth acceleration. To help you better, what's your current mileage? Also, have you noticed if the symptoms are worse when the engine is cold? Just want to make sure we're dealing with the same issue here. If your symptoms match up, I'd definitely get it checked soon – these issues tend to get worse and can damage other components if left too long. Cheers!
