Hey, thanks for sharing your experience with the ABS unit issue. Sounds pretty similar to what I'm experiencing now. Just curious, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? Also, has everything been working smoothly since the fix, or have you noticed any other related problems popping up? Really appreciate your help with this!

Hey again! Glad to help with more details. Yes, I remember clearly, the total bill came to 1000.00 € for fixing that faulty ABS control unit. And I've got good news for you, since getting it fixed, everything's been running perfectly smooth! The ABS and stability control systems are working exactly as they should. The wheel speed sensor issue was actually part of the bigger problem with the control unit, but once they replaced and programmed the new unit, all those warning lights disappeared completely. Haven't had a single problem with it since the repair, and it's been over a year now. I know it wasn't cheap, but considering it's such a crucial safety system, I'd say it was worth every penny. Trust me, you'll feel the difference once it's properly fixed. Just make sure you get it done at a shop that knows what they're doing with Land Rovers, these systems can be quite tricky to diagnose and repair correctly. Let me know how it goes when you get yours sorted!

Thanks for all that detailed info! I bit the bullet and took my Freelander to a specialist mechanic yesterday. Turns out you were spot on, it was the ABS control unit that needed replacing. Got hit with an 850€ bill, but honestly, I'm just relieved it's fixed now. The mechanic was super professional, showed me the corroded unit and explained everything clearly. Took them about a day and a half to complete the job, including all the programming stuff. Drove it home today and what a difference! No more warning lights, and the ABS and stability control are working perfectly again. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, helped me feel more confident about getting it properly fixed rather than trying cheaper alternatives. Sometimes spending a bit more upfront saves headaches later. Thanks again for all your help!

Had the same issue with my 2012 Land Rover Discovery 3.0L last year. Initially thought it was just the wheel speed sensor, but the diagnostic revealed a faulty ABS control unit. The old unit was corroded and sending incorrect signals, triggering both ABS and DSC warnings. Got it fixed at a certified shop, they had to replace the entire ABS control unit. It was quite a serious job since the ABS unit is a critical safety component. The repair included programming and calibrating the new unit to work with the car's systems. What initially looked like a sensor issue turned out to be more complex. My advice: get it properly diagnosed by a Land Rover specialist, these symptoms can be tricky and you don't want to replace parts unnecessarily. The repair took about two days total.
