Hey, that sounds like exactly what I was afraid of! Can you remember how much you paid for the repair? And has everything gone smoothly since then or were there any other surprises? Thanks for the info!

Hey, no problem! So, the repair cost me €365, which meant that the control unit and the immobilizer antenna were good to go again. Since the visit to the mechanic, everything has been running smoothly again and there have been no more surprises. The immobilizer malfunction has since been rectified. So, I think it's worth the money if you want to sleep peacefully again and not always have to think about whether your car will start or not. Hope this helps you!

Hey, that really is a lot of money, but as you say, the peace of mind is certainly priceless. Thanks, that was really helpful! I'll take my C MAX straight to the garage tomorrow and explain the situation. Hopefully they will have a solution ready. I'm really relieved to hear that your car is running smoothly again since the repair. Keep your fingers crossed that my case ends just as smoothly! Bye and thanks again!

Hey, I went through exactly the same thing with my 2019 Ford Focus ecoBoost, it's a real mess. I had a broken immobilizer control unit and antenna. Your symptoms remind me a lot of that. The mechanic had to replace them completely, it was a serious job. Had to leave the car there for a few days, but after that it ran like a dream again. Hope this helps you!
