Exterior mirror defroster not working on 2015 Ford Ecosport

Hi guys, I have a problem with my 2015 Ford Ecosport (petrol, already 109494 km down) - my wing mirror no longer de-ices. Unfortunately, my last experience with a garage wasn't that great. So I wanted to hear if anyone else has had something similar happen to their car. Was it a defect in the wing mirror itself or was it the mirror heater? How did it go in the workshop? Any information really helps me. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2012 Ford Fiesta. In my case it was the cable connection/plug that was faulty. Symptoms were pretty similar. It's not impossible to fix the problem. At the workshop, they simply removed the old connector and soldered in a new one. Of course, this has to be done with a certain amount of care to avoid further problems. It's annoying, but a defect like this just happens. Hope this helps you.

Hello, yes of course I remember. The repair cost me around €155 to fix the faulty cable connection or plug. But since then everything has been really great. The wing mirror and the heater have worked perfectly since the visit to the mechanic, no further problems in this respect. So, don't worry! It's not a fortune and the hassle is over afterwards.
