Electronic Parking Brake Problems on Electric Mini Cooper

Anyone else had trouble with the electronic parking brake on their electric 2020 Mini Cooper? Mine's a model with km on the clock, and the handbrake's completely useless. Warning light's on, error code stored. Seems like a defective motor in the brake caliper. Is this a common thing, impacting vehicle safety?

Sounds like a real pain. Had a similar issue with my Skoda a while back. Electronic parking brake just gave up the ghost. Were there any weird noises before it went completely? Did you try resetting the system by disconnecting the battery for a while, or reading out the error codes?

Disconnecting the battery, you say? Interesting. But the error codes pointed towards the motor, so would that really make a difference? What was the eventual fix for your Skoda?

Yeah, the error codes are pretty clear in your case then. With my Skoda, it turned out to be a faulty module despite resetting attempts. Saved myself some headache and let the workshop deal with the specifics. Probably best to get it checked out professionally. Parking brake issues aren't worth messing with, are they?
