Hey, thanks for your feedback. That reassures me a little. Do you happen to remember what you had to pay for the repair? And were there any other problems after replacing the control unit or has everything been fine since then?

Hey, of course I can still do that. Well, I had to fork out quite a bit for the repair of the control unit, €1000 to be precise. But since then the car has been running like clockwork again, no joke really. The cruise control in particular hasn't made any more noise since the visit to the mechanic. I really can't complain since then. So don't worry, it's definitely worth the money! Hope that helps you.

Hey, thanks for your quick reply. 1000 € is a lot of money, but if it works properly and doesn't cause any further problems, it seems to be worth it. I will definitely consider it. Your experience has definitely given me courage. It's probably high time I got to the bottom of this. Hopefully I'll have as much luck with my mechanic as you have with yours. Thanks again!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2014 VW Passat. The cruise control was also spinning and the error message was 'control unit defective'. It was a bit annoying at first, but the problem was definitely treatable. My mechanic always says changing weather could be the cause. As you know, electronics are pretty sensitive. It was a serious problem, but after the ECU was replaced on my car, I've never had problems like that again. Don't worry, I'm sure they'll sort it out.
