Canyon Climate Panel Issues: AC Dead, Heat Weak

Thanks for the feedback. My Canyon has 68427 KM and just had its annual service last month. After getting the codes read, the blower motor seems to work fine but only at certain speeds. There are clicking noises when adjusting the temperature sensor settings. The power supply to the control panel seems intermittent, sometimes the display flickers or goes completely dark. The air conditioning compressor isnt engaging at all when the AC button is pressed. Other dashboard controls work normally, its just the climate control panel having issues. The stored codes were P0531 and P0532 which point to AC pressure sensor circuit problems according to the scanner. Would cleaning the connections help in my case or does this sound like a different issue?

Based on those trouble codes and your description, this seems different from my Sierra connector issue after all. P0531/P0532 typically indicate an AC pressure sensor problem rather than just dirty connections like I had. The power supply issues and flickering display could be related, but the pressure sensor codes suggest a fault in the air conditioning system itself. When my Sierra had connector problems, it never threw those specific codes. The temperature sensor settings making clicking sounds is normal, but the intermittent blower speeds combined with the compressor not engaging points to a more complex problem than just dirty connections. In my case, cleaning the connectors fixed everything because the HVAC system components were all working properly. Your situation with the pressure sensor codes likely needs professional diagnosis of the air conditioning system, specifically the pressure sensor circuit and related wiring. A few things to consider: The pressure sensor helps protect the air conditioning compressor, Without proper pressure readings, the climate control system stays in fail-safe mode, Simple connector cleaning probably wont resolve pressure sensor circuit issues My repair was relatively simple at 95 Euro, but pressure sensor related problems often cost more to diagnose and fix properly.

Thanks everyone for the input. After comparing my situation to what others experienced, I can see this is probably more serious than just dirty connections since my Canyon is throwing those specific AC pressure sensor codes. The flickering display and intermittent climate control panel function had me hoping it was just a wiring harness issue that could be fixed by cleaning the electrical connectors. But with the air conditioning compressor not engaging and those P0531/P0532 codes, it seems the electronic faults are related to the pressure sensor circuit. Going to book it in with a workshop that specializes in automotive air conditioning and electrical diagnosis. Will update once I know what they find. Hoping the repair costs stay reasonable but at least I have a better idea what to expect now versus just assuming it was a simple connection problem.

I had a very similar issue with my 2006 GMC Sierra that turned out to be a problem with the electrical connectors behind the control panel of the HVAC system. Based on some experience working on these models, the symptoms you describe match what I encountered. The air conditioning and heating problems were caused by corroded connections between the control panel and the main wiring harness. After the workshop did a full diagnostic, they found that moisture had gotten into the electrical connectors over time, causing poor contact. The repair involved cleaning the connections and replacing some damaged pins in the harness. Total cost was 95 Euro for parts and labor. Since the fix, the HVAC system has worked flawlessly with both heating and air conditioning functioning properly. To provide more specific guidance, could you share: Have you noticed any intermittent function of other dashboard controls? What error codes were stored exactly? Does the blower motor run at all? Are there any clicking sounds when you adjust the temperature controls? These details would help determine if your issue matches what I experienced with my Sierra's control panel connections.
