Hey, thanks for the answer! So, my BMW X1 is actually a 2016 model with 165432 km on the clock. I'll probably have to go to the garage and have the EGR valve checked. Your tip has already helped me. Thanks again and LG!

Hey, no problem, glad I could help you! Your mileage also sounds like a typical mileage at which the EGR valve can start to cause problems. I think a workshop visit is definitely the right step. On my X3, replacing the EGR valve actually resolved all the symptoms you described. A little tip: Ask the garage if they can also clean the system directly, not just replace the valve. Sometimes a lot of deposits build up there, which can also lead to the problems. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it runs like clockwork again! LG and good luck!

Hey, thanks for the great tip! I will definitely ask the garage about cleaning the entire system. I hope this solves all the problems and my BMW runs smoothly again. Your advice has really helped me! LG and thanks again!

Hi, E81 with 116000km. I get the error EGR valve adaptation. The actual opening values do not match the target values. Do you have any idea what is going on here? Are there any other options apart from replacing the valve? I look forward to the answers

Hi, it seems like the EGR valve might be clogged or faulty. Try cleaning the valve and checking the related sensors and wiring first. If the issue persists, a software update or adaptation reset might help before considering replacement.

Before you consider replacing the EGR valve, you could try cleaning it first. Sometimes, carbon deposits can build up in the valve, causing it to stick and not open or close properly. If cleaning doesn't solve the problem, you might want to check the wiring and connectors for any signs of damage or corrosion. If everything looks good, a software update or adaptation reset might be the next step. However, if the problem persists after these steps, it might be time to consider replacing the EGR valve.

Hi. Agr valve has already been changed three times in two years. Exhaust pressure sensor also changed once and everything learned. Agr valve is clean and opens smoothly.

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2014 BMW X1 (my model was an X3 though). I have a bit of experience with cars, so just some basic stuff. In my case, the EGR valve was also defective or stuck. I took the car to the garage because the engine was running rough, had power loss and the check engine light came on. My mechanic then confirmed my suspicion about the EGR valve. The repair cost me €355. If you need more information, please write which model (more precisely) and which engine you have. Maybe I can then help you more precisely! LG and good luck!
