Thanks for sharing your experience! Just had my latest service done about 3 weeks ago at 67729 KM, and everything was perfect then. The warning light started appearing consistently about 4 days ago. The error code I'm getting is B007F1, and yes, the light stays on constantly, doesn't flicker at all. Interesting that you mentioned the control unit because my suggested the same thing. The timing of both issues starting simultaneously does make me think they're connected. Was your repair covered under warranty? Mine should still be under warranty since it's a 2022 model. I'm really hoping it's just a software glitch that can be sorted with a reset rather than needing a full unit replacement like in your case.

Thanks for the follow-up info! Yeah, that B007F1 code is exactly what I had, talk about déjà vu! In my case, since my i4 was a 2020 model, it wasn't under warranty anymore (just my luck), which is why I had to pay for the repair. But you're in a much better position with your 2022 iX, this should definitely be covered under warranty! You know what's interesting? I initially hoped for a simple software reset too, and the workshop actually tried that first. They did a complete system reboot and recalibration, but the warning light came back on within a day. That's when they figured out the control unit itself was the culprit. Since you're getting the identical error code and symptoms, I'd bet you're dealing with the same issue. The good news is, once they replaced the unit, it was smooth sailing, haven't had a single problem since. The repair itself only took about half a day, so it's not too bad. Just make sure to document when the problems started and keep a record of that error code. Do you already have an appointment with the dealer? They should be able to sort this out pretty quickly under warranty. Keep me posted on what they find!

Really appreciate all the detailed info! Just got back from scheduling an appointment with the dealer for next Tuesday. They seemed pretty familiar with the issue when I mentioned the error code, which I guess is a good sign. I've documented everything like you suggested, dates, error codes, and even took a video of the soft top acting up, just to be thorough. You've actually made me feel a lot better about the whole situation. I was worried this might be some weird one-off problem, but knowing you had the exact same issue and got it resolved is reassuring. Definitely hoping the warranty covers it, fingers crossed! I'll probably need a loaner car for the day, but that's not a big deal. Thanks again for all your help. I'll let you know how it goes after Tuesday's appointment!

I have some experience working on EVs, and this sounds familiar. I dealt with a similar issue on my 2020 BMW i4 last year (love BMWs, also considered the iX3 at the time). The airbag warning and top malfunction turned out to be a faulty control unit, super annoying! Took it to my workshop and they diagnosed it after doing a thorough system scan. The control unit was completely acting up, affecting both the airbag system and the soft top controls. Ended up costing me around 1000 Euro to replace and reprogram the unit, but it fixed both issues completely. Before I can share more specific details that might help: Could you tell me which error code you're getting? Also, when exactly did these issues start, and does the warning light stay on constantly or does it flicker?
