Thanks so much for sharing your experience! Really helpful to know it was the regulator and debris causing trouble. Do you remember roughly how much the repair set you back? Also, curious if you've had any other blower-related issues since getting it fixed?

Hey again! Great to hear back from you! Just wanted to update that I actually got my blower issue fixed recently, turned out it was just the blower motor that was defective. The repair cost me 365 € total, and honestly, it was worth every penny. The car's running perfectly now, no more blower troubles whatsoever. It's actually a bit different from what I initially thought when I mentioned the regulator and debris, sometimes these things can look similar but have different root causes. Since getting it repaired about six months ago, everything's been working like a charm. The heating and cooling are back to being super responsive, and there's no weird noises or anything. Really glad I got it sorted with a proper mechanic who knew what they were doing. These BMW systems can be tricky, but once they're fixed right, they tend to stay fixed. Let me know if you need any other info, always happy to help out a fellow BMW owner!

Thanks again for all the details! I finally got my blower issue fixed last week, and thought I'd share how it went. Found a certified BMW specialist who diagnosed it right away, turned out to be a blown fuse and a worn-out motor. The repair took about three hours and cost me €480 total, parts and labor included. The mechanic walked me through everything and explained that these issues are pretty common in our model year. He also showed me what a worn-out blower motor looks like compared to a new one, quite an eye-opener! The best part is my AC and heating are working better than ever now. What a relief to have it sorted! Really appreciate everyone's advice here, helped me feel more confident about getting it fixed. No more sweating about the repair costs or finding a trustworthy mechanic. Thanks again for helping me out with this!

Hey there! Had the exact same issue with my 2018 BMW 6 Series last winter. The blower completely died without warning. Ended up being a faulty blower motor regulator, but the mechanic also found that some debris had gotten into the motor housing, which caused the initial damage. The repair wasn't too complicated, but it definitely needed experienced hands. They had to remove several components to access the blower assembly. In my case, they replaced both the blower motor and the regulator since they were both shot. The whole thing took about 4-5 hours of labor. It's not a catastrophic problem, but you'll want to get it fixed soon since it affects your defrosting and cabin comfort. Just make sure whoever works on it knows BMW systems well, these newer models have specific diagnostic requirements. Best of luck getting it sorted.
