Hey! Thanks for sharing your experience with the ABS issue. Sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with on my 8! I'm actually a bit relieved to hear someone else had this problem fixed successfully. Just wondering, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? Also, has everything been running smoothly since the fix, or have you noticed any other quirks popping up? Cheers!

Hey again! Great to hear back from you! Yeah, I can totally give you the details about the costs, I paid exactly 1000 € for fixing the defective control unit. And I've got some good news for you: since getting it sorted, my car's been running like a dream! The lateral acceleration sensor fault is completely gone, and I haven't seen that annoying ABS warning light since. I was actually thinking about your situation when I was driving yesterday, it's such a relief to have this fixed. Everything's working perfectly now, no weird quirks or issues at all. The braking system feels super responsive, just like when the car was new. Trust me, once you get this sorted, you'll feel so much better about driving your 8. These BMWs are fantastic cars when everything's working as it should. Just make sure you get someone who really knows what they're doing with the BMW systems, it makes all the difference. Let me know how it goes with yours! Cheers!

Hey! Just wanted to update you on my BMW situation! Finally got it sorted at a mechanic who really knows his stuff. You were spot on about needing someone with proper BMW experience. The whole thing cost me about 950 €, pretty close to what you paid. The repair went smoother than I expected. Dropped it off in the morning, and they diagnosed it quickly, you were right again, it was the control unit causing all the trouble. They had it ready by the next afternoon, and honestly, what a difference! The car feels completely different now, in a good way. No more warning lights, and the ABS is working perfectly. Really glad I didn't put this off any longer. Thanks again for sharing your experience, it really helped me make the decision to get it fixed right away rather than waiting. The mechanic even showed me exactly what was wrong with the old unit, which was pretty interesting. Really appreciate your help with this one! Cheers!

Hey there! I faced a similar issue with my 2019 BMW 7 Series 730d last month. The ABS warning light kept popping up, and the diagnostic showed the same lateral acceleration sensor fault. Initially thought it was just a sensor issue, but it turned out the control unit itself was defective. Had to get the entire ABS control module replaced as it was causing erratic ABS behavior and stability control problems. Not something you want to ignore, as it affects your vehicle's core safety systems. The repair took about two days at the garage, including testing. It's definitely a job for someone who knows BMW systems well, not your average corner shop repair. After the fix, all systems have been working perfectly, no warning lights since then. If you're getting the same error codes I did, I'd suggest getting it checked sooner rather than later. These problems tend to get worse if left unattended. Best of luck with the repair.
