Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful, I've been worried it might be something major like the control module too. Just curious, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the repair? Also, has everything been working smoothly since then, or have you noticed any other quirks with the sensors?

Hey again! Just wanted to let you know that everything turned out fine with my parking sensors after getting them fixed. I remember being in your shoes, worrying about the control module, but it was just a cable issue in the end. The total bill came to 95 € for fixing the faulty cable connection, which was way less than I'd feared. The mechanic found some corrosion on the plug that was causing all the drama with the beeping and error messages. Since the repair, everything's been working perfectly, no more unusual beeping, no error messages, and the parking assistant is back to normal. It's been about a year now, and I haven't had a single issue with the sensors. Trust me, once they sort out the wiring, these systems are pretty reliable. A lot cheaper and less stressful than I initially thought it would be. Just make sure you get someone who knows BMWs, makes all the difference with these electronic issues.

Thanks for the detailed follow-up! After seeing your message, I took my car to a mechanic yesterday. You were spot on, it was just a wiring issue. The mechanic found some water damage in the sensor connections that was causing all the chaos. Had it fixed for about 120 €, such a relief it wasn't the control module! They cleaned up the connections, replaced a bit of damaged wiring, and ran a full system check. Took my car for a spin afterward, and all the sensors are working perfectly now. No more unusual beeping or error messages. Should've done this weeks ago instead of worrying about it! Really appreciate you sharing your experience. It helped me avoid going to those expensive dealership who probably would've charged triple for the same fix. Just glad to have my parking assistant back to normal!

Hey there! I have a 2017 BMW 5 Series Hybrid and faced similar parking sensor issues last year. From my experience at the garage, it turned out to be a faulty wiring connection in the main sensor harness, the cables had some corrosion and a loose connection at the plug. Initially thought it was serious, but the actual fix wasn't too complex. The constant beeping and system errors are classic signs of this problem. The mechanic had to clean the connections, replace a damaged section of the wiring harness, and recalibrate the parking sensors. It wasn't a major repair, but it needed proper diagnostic equipment to pinpoint the exact issue. Make sure whoever works on it has experience with BMW's electronic systems, they're quite specific. Not gonna lie, I was worried it might be the control module, which would've been much more serious, but thankfully it wasn't. Most important thing is finding someone who knows what they're doing with these systems.
