Hey there, thanks for sharing your experience. Dealing with similar issues on my BMW right now. That transfer case problem sounds exactly like what I'm experiencing. Just wondering, do you remember roughly how much the repair set you back? And has everything been running smoothly since then, or have you noticed any other quirks pop up? Always good to know what to expect with these repairs.

Hey again! Glad to help out with more details. The repair cost me 330 € and honestly, it was worth every penny. Since getting it fixed, my car's been running like a dream, no more jerking, weird noises, or warning lights. The transfer case oil wear fault that was causing all those problems is completely gone now. The mechanic did a thorough job replacing those defective gears in the transfer case, and I haven't had a single issue pop up since then. It's been about a month now, and the car drives just like when I first got it, smooth gear changes and perfect AWD performance. If your symptoms match what I experienced, I'd say get it checked out soon. Leaving it too long might end up costing more in the long run. Let me know how it goes when you get it looked at, always interested to hear how these repairs turn out for others with similar BMW models.

Thanks so much for those extra details! Just wanted to update you, I took your advice and got my car checked out yesterday. Turns out you were spot on about the transfer case. The mechanic I found was really knowledgeable and showed me exactly what was wrong. Cost me a bit more than yours at 380 €, but like you said, totally worth it to get the car running properly again. Took it for a test drive this morning and what a difference! No more jerking or rough shifting, feels like a completely different car. Really glad I didn't wait any longer to get it fixed. The mechanic also did a full inspection while it was in there and everything else looked good, so hopefully won't have any more issues for a while. Thanks again for sharing your experience, really helped me make the decision to get it sorted quickly instead of putting it off. These BMWs can be tricky, but when they're running right, they're fantastic cars!

As a 2019 BMW 5 Series Hybrid owner, I can relate to your situation. Had nearly identical symptoms last month, jerking at constant speeds, rough gear changes, and AWD warnings. Turned out to be defective gears in the transfer case. Had it fixed at a certified shop. They had to disassemble the entire transfer case unit to replace the worn-out gears and bearings. It was quite a serious repair that took three days to complete. The mechanic showed me the damaged parts, the gear teeth were significantly worn down, which explained the jerking and shifting issues. Since the repair, the car runs perfectly smooth again. My advice, get it checked soon, as continuing to drive with these symptoms could cause more extensive damage to the transmission system. Make sure to find a shop that specializes in BMW hybrids, as these systems are quite complex. Let me know if you need more specific details about the repair process.
