Thanks for sharing your experience with the throttle body malfunction. My car showed similar symptoms and I was worried about a complete system failure. The steering wheel controls and cruise function came back after the repair, though getting there was a bit of a journey. Quick question, do you remember roughly how much the repair cost in your case? Also, has everything been working properly since the fix, or have you noticed any other electronic glitches? My mechanic mentioned that these non-functional throttle body issues often cascade into other car electronics problems if left unchecked, so I am curious about your long-term experience.

Had the repair done last month and can report everything works perfectly now. The malfunction turned out to be exactly what I suspected, just a faulty connection to the throttle body causing the cruise control to shut down. Total cost was 95 Euro for fixing the cable and plug connection. Since the repair, all systems are functioning normally. The cruise control works flawlessly and no other electronic glitches have appeared. The actuator responds properly and the fuse box connections were also checked during the service just to be thorough. Your mechanic is right about addressing these issues quickly. A compromised throttle body connection can lead to various electronic malfunctions if ignored. Getting it fixed early likely prevented more expensive problems down the road. For reference, a complete throttle body replacement would have cost significantly more, so finding a shop that properly diagnosed the actual connection issue saved considerable money.

I took my car to the mechanic last week and finally got the issue resolved. The throttle body connection was indeed the culprit, just as suggested. The repair shop found corroded wiring near the connector and fixed it for 180 Euro, including diagnostic time. The cruise control and all steering wheel functions are working perfectly now. The speedometer errors have completely disappeared. Was relieved it wasnt a full throttle body replacement, which would have cost much more. The mechanic thoroughly checked the fuse box and other electronic connections while doing the repair. They explained that moisture had gotten into the wiring over time, causing the corrosion. Simple fix, but glad I didnt wait longer as it could have damaged other components. Total repair time was about 2 hours. Money well spent considering all systems are now functioning properly and no more error messages appear on the dashboard.

Had the exact same issue on a 2007 Audi A4 2.0T. The symptoms match a common failure pattern where the throttle body loses communication with the main control unit. The diagnostics revealed it was not just a simple actuator problem, but rather a failing connection between the throttle body and its wiring harness. The cruise control shutdown is a safety feature when the throttle body signals become unreliable. The repair required cleaning the throttle body connections and replacing a damaged wiring connector. While not a serious mechanical issue, it needs proper attention since it affects critical driving functions. The throttle body itself was functioning correctly; the fault was in the signal transmission. A qualified shop needs to perform proper diagnostics before replacing parts. They should check: Throttle body connector pins for corrosion, Wiring harness condition, Fuse box connections related to the throttle system, Steering wheel cruise control switch functionality Without complete diagnostics, shops might unnecessarily replace the entire throttle body when only the wiring needs repair.
