Audi Q2 Diesel (2018): Problems with audio system and sat nav - experiences and solutions?

Hello everyone, I have a small problem with my Audi Q2 Diesel (built in 2018). Recently, the audio system has stopped making a sound and the navigation system is also completely on strike - it has simply hung up. I have the feeling that the function of the audio system is limited. Have any of you ever had a problem like this? How did you get it solved at the garage and what was your experience? I'm grateful for any tips!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2016 Audi Q3 Diesel. I'm not a car expert, but I have had a few experiences. I took the car to my local garage and the fault was identified as a faulty power supply to the amplifier. The repair cost me 270 euros, which I thought was reasonable as everything worked again afterwards. You may have the same fault, but without more information about your vehicle, I can only speculate. Perhaps you could say more about the symptoms that occurred before the total failure? This could help to narrow down the fault more precisely. Hope this helps you!

Hey, thank you very much for your answer and your effort. Your experience is definitely very helpful! Before the total failure occurred, the audio system actually stopped working for short periods of time. This happened particularly often when it was really hot in the car. Directly after my last service, at a mileage of 43132 km, the navigation system completely gave up the ghost and the audio system no longer makes a sound. So it really could be the power supply. I'll describe your experience at the garage and then see what happens. Thanks again!

Hey, you're welcome and thanks for the additional info! The heat could actually be an indication that there is a problem with the power supply or even with the cooling of the audio system. And the mileage definitely plays a role. Be sure to mention all this to the garage, they should then hopefully be able to find the fault quickly. So hopefully the repair shouldn't be too expensive. I was lucky that my problem could also be fixed relatively cheaply - I wish you the same! Keep us posted on what the garage says. Keep your fingers crossed that it gets fixed quickly and cheaply!

Hey, exactly, I can build on your experience. It also seems to me that this is related to the heat and the mileage. Concrete that in the workshop, and hopefully they will categorize the problem similarly to yours. Would be great if it's just the amplifier and the cost is manageable like yours. Thanks again for the exchange, I'll keep you posted on what the workshop says! Fingers crossed that it will soon be running smoothly again!

Hello, I'm having issues with the audio system and sat nav in my 2020 Audi Q3 Diesel, which has done 30,200 km. Has anyone experienced similar problems? What solutions worked for you? Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Firstly, try to reset your infotainment system by holding down the power button for about 10 seconds until it restarts. If this doesn't work, it could be a software issue or a problem with the power supply to the system. In either case, it's best to take your car to a professional mechanic for a proper diagnosis.
