Audi Airbag Warning Light Signals Safety Alert

Looking for advice regarding the SRS light that suddenly appeared on my 2022 Audi A4. The airbag warning lamp stays constantly illuminated in the instrument cluster. No accidents or impacts preceded this issue, and the car runs perfectly otherwise. Vehicle safety is my top priority, so I want to get this sorted properly. Has anyone dealt with a similar airbag system failure? Particularly interested in what the diagnostic revealed and repair costs at the workshop. Please share your experiences with fixing this automotive safety concern.

Had the exact same issue on my 2020 Audi A3. I also noticed the SRS light staying on constantly, which was concerning since the airbag system is a critical safety component. After some basic troubleshooting failed, I took it to a workshop where they ran a full diagnostic scan on the airbag sensor system. They found a loose connection in one of the wiring harnesses under the driver seat. The airbag repair involved securing the connector properly and cleaning the contact points. Total cost was 95 Euro for diagnosis and repair. The SRS light turned off immediately after the fix and hasnt returned since. These airbag sensor issues can be tricky to diagnose without proper equipment, so professional inspection is usually needed. Can you share some additional details about your A4: Have you had any work done recently near the seats or center console? Did the SRS light appear suddenly or did it flicker first? Have you noticed any other warning lights or electrical issues? This information would help determine if your car has a similar crash sensor connection problem or if its something else in the airbag system that needs attention.

Thanks for the feedback on my airbag system issue. My A4 just hit 198379 KM at the last service check two weeks ago. The SRS light actually started flickering intermittently before staying permanently on. No recent work has been done near the seats or console area that could have disturbed the restraint system wiring. The diagnostic scan at the shop revealed a faulty clock spring in the steering wheel, which was affecting the airbag connection. After replacing the clock spring component, the SRS warning light issue was fully resolved. The entire airbag repair cost 320 Euro including parts and labor. The technician also checked all other crash sensors and connections as a precaution, confirming the rest of the safety system is functioning properly.

Thanks for the update on the clock spring replacement. That is indeed a common failure point for airbag warning light issues. Your experience mirrors what I found when dealing with my A3s SRS warning, these automotive safety components need proper attention as soon as warning signs appear. After my initial wiring harness fix, I actually had the clock spring fail about 8 months later, showing similar symptoms with intermittent flickering before constant illumination. The steering wheel airbag deployment system is particularly sensitive to clock spring issues. My repair cost was slightly higher at 370 Euro since they had to order a specific part for the newer model. Its good practice that your technician did a full system check. When one component in the restraint system fails, its worth inspecting everything to prevent future airbag recall issues. These comprehensive checks helped identify any potential problems before they become safety concerns. Would recommend keeping track of when these repairs were done. Clock springs typically last 150000-200000 KM, so you might want to plan for preventative replacement during future maintenance to maintain optimal airbag system performance.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences. An update on my situation: I took my A4 to the dealer after seeing the feedback here. They confirmed the clock spring diagnosis and completed the airbag repair yesterday. The total repair cost came to 320 Euro which included replacing the faulty clock spring and a full vehicle safety inspection of all restraint system components. They also checked all the crash sensors and wiring connections as a precaution. The SRS light issue is now completely resolved. The warning light turned off immediately after the repair and hasnt returned. The technician mentioned the clock spring failure is fairly common at this mileage (198379 KM), which matches what others shared about typical lifespans. For anyone else dealing with similar airbag system problems, get it checked promptly. The intermittent flickering of the SRS light before it stayed on permanently was the key warning sign in my case. Will definitely keep track of the maintenance schedule to prevent future automotive safety issues.
