Thanks for sharing your experience with the A6 suspension system. My A8 is now fixed and running smoothly again. The mechanic found the same wiring harness corrosion issue affecting the shock absorber controls. Curious how much you ended up paying for your repair? My bill seemed quite steep, and I wonder if the costs were in line with typical suspension failure repairs. Also, has everything stayed working properly since the fix, or have you noticed any other suspension-related problems? The car handling is much better now, but I keep a close eye on how the vehicle suspension behaves, just in case.

The total repair cost for my A6 damping control issue came to 95 Euro, which covered fixing the faulty cable connection. This seems quite reasonable compared to what some suspension repairs can cost. Since having the wiring harness fixed, the vehicle suspension has performed flawlessly. The car handling returned to normal and that annoying warning light hasnt appeared again. Its been over a year now with no suspension failure symptoms returning. Good to hear your A8 damping control is working properly again. These electronic suspension components can be sensitive to connection issues, but once properly repaired, they tend to stay reliable. The smooth ride quality these systems provide when working correctly is worth the occasional maintenance. Just keep an eye on any unusual noises or changes in the shock absorber response, but you shouldnt need to worry too much. The suspension system is quite robust once these common electrical issues are properly addressed.

Just took my A8 to a certified Audi specialist last week. The repair was more expensive than expected at 750 Euro, but given the complexity of the damping control system, I guess thats the price for proper suspension system maintenance. The mechanic showed me the corroded wiring harness and explained how it was affecting the shock absorber performance. The repair process took about 6 hours since they had to remove several components to access the affected area. After the fix, the car handling has improved dramatically. The ride is smooth again and the warning lights are gone. Really relieved to have the suspension failure issues resolved, though I wish Id caught it earlier before the car handling got so rough. Will definitely keep monitoring the suspension system more closely from now on. At least I know what to look out for if similar damping control problems come up in the future.

Had similar suspension system issues on my 2016 Audi A6 3.0 TDI. The symptoms matched exactly, rough ride comfort and warning lights for damping control. The root cause was a faulty wiring harness connecting to the air suspension control module. The connector had corroded over time, leading to intermittent communication failures. This caused the suspension to default to its firmest setting as a failsafe. This is actually a known weak point on these models. While the repair itself is not mechanically complex, accessing the components requires removing several underbody panels. The entire repair focused on: Testing suspension control module connectivity, Replacing corroded wiring harness, Recalibrating the suspension system, Full system diagnostic check It was a serious issue that needed immediate attention since continued driving could damage other suspension components. The symptoms progressively worsened over about 2 weeks before I had it fixed. Given your mileage and model year, its likely facing similar suspension failure patterns. Would recommend having it checked by an Audi specialist who can properly diagnose the damping control system.
