Audi A6 Dash Warning Lights Point to Faulty Indicator

I drive a 2003 Audi A6 gasoline (130738 km) and getting multiple warnings on my dash plus an error code. The indicator light on the right side seems faulty, and I suspect a bulb replacement might fix it. Had a bad experience with my last mechanic, so I am hesitant to go back. Has anyone dealt with similar lighting issues? Did a simple flasher relay or bulb replacement solve the problem, or was it something more serious? Looking for advice before choosing where to get it fixed.

Last year I encountered similar symptoms with my 2006 Audi A4. The turn indicator started acting irregularly, triggering multiple warning lights on the dashboard. Initially thought it was just a burnt bulb, but the electrical fault turned out to be more complex. The flasher relay was malfunctioning, causing inconsistent signal lamp operation. The automotive lighting system diagnosis revealed corroded connector pins at the main harness. The repair required cleaning the connections and replacing both the flasher relay and the corresponding wiring section. While not the most expensive repair for this type of car, it needed proper diagnostic equipment to pinpoint the exact issue. A basic bulb replacement would not have solved the root cause. The turn indicator problems in these models often stem from electrical connection issues rather than simple bulb failures. The repair took about 3 hours to complete, mainly due to the time needed to access and properly clean the connection points. The symptoms match what you describe, and postponing the repair could lead to additional electrical system complications.

Thanks for sharing your experience. My situation was nearly identical with my A6. Had the same unusual dash warnings and broken lens issue on the passenger side. Got it fixed at a specialist shop after the dealer quoted way too high. Just wondering, how much did you end up paying for the complete signal lamp repair? Have you had any other electrical issues pop up since getting it fixed? The turn signal on my repaired side works perfectly now, but sometimes I worry about the other side going bad too.

Good news about my repair cost, it came to 95 Euro total. The problem was traced to a faulty cable and plug connection affecting the turn indicator system. The repair shop fixed the electrical fault completely, and I have not experienced any issues with either signal lamp since then. The turn signal now works flawlessly after the repair, unlike before when the flasher relay was acting up. I was relieved it did not require an extensive rewiring job or expensive parts replacement. The technician mentioned these electrical connection problems are quite common in older Audis. As for your concern about the other side, while it is possible to have similar issues develop, proper maintenance of the electrical connections can help prevent them. The lamp replacement and connection repair on my vehicle has held up well for over a year now without any recurring problems.

After getting some helpful advice here, I decided to take my A6 to a specialist shop last week. The mechanic found corroded wiring near the signal lamp assembly, similar to what others described. They replaced the flasher relay and cleaned all the connector pins. The total repair came to 120 Euro, which was much better than the dealer quote. The indicator light works perfectly now, and all those dashboard warnings disappeared. The broken lens was also replaced as part of the job. The whole repair took about 2 hours, and the shop demonstrated the problem clearly before fixing it. Really glad I found this place instead of going back to my previous mechanic. They even showed me what to watch for to prevent similar issues in the future.
