ABS and brake pedal of the 2015 Ibiza cause difficulties

Hello everyone! I have a problem with my 2015 Ibiza (petrol engine, 80500 km driven). The ABS function is totally crazy, the light is constantly flashing and the brake pedal hardly reacts at all - it feels really spongy. I think it has something to do with the pressure sensor on the brake booster - I have the signal error in the back of my mind. Didn't have a good experience at the last workshop visit and really don't know what to do. Have you had similar problems or can you give me a tip on how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2012 Toledo. The ABS light was flickering like crazy, and the braking behavior wasn't normal either. Sure, it also felt spongy. After some back and forth, I went to the garage. During the inspection, a problem with the pressure sensor on the brake booster was found. It was a serious defect that needed to be fixed. I recommend you get the car into a garage as soon as possible. It's no small matter, especially when it comes to brakes. Hopefully this will help you. Good luck!

Hey, thank you, that really helps me! Can I ask how much you had to pay for the repair? Has there been anything similar or different since then or was that the end of the problems?

Hey, no problem, I'm happy to help where I can. So, during this repair visit, the mechanic fixed this signal error in the pressure sensor on the brake booster. It cost me exactly €90 because the brake system was bled incorrectly and that also had to be corrected. And to answer your other question - no, there have been no further problems since the visit to the workshop. My Toledo now drives like a champ, no ABS lights, no more strange braking sensations. Hope this helps and fingers crossed that it goes as smoothly for you!

That's great to hear, thanks again for all the info. It's a bit reassuring to know that it's not going to cost a fortune. I'll get my car into the garage as soon as possible and hope it's nothing more serious. Your story really helped me, I'll report back on how it went! Take care and thanks again!

Hello, I had a similar case with my Passat (it's almost the same technology). Unfortunately, in my case it wasn't just the pressure sensor that is screwed into the ABS block, but the ABS block was defective. However, my garage had advised me to try to have the ABS block repaired instead of buying a new one. The repair by a specialist company was successful and since then I have had no more problems. It is often worth having defective components repaired instead of buying a new one.
